Aria at Idlewild offers thoughtfully designed one-, two-, and three-bedroom luxury apartment homes in Matthews, North Carolina. The community blends upscale finishes with resort-style amenities, creating a refined living experience that balances comfort, convenience, and modern sophistication.
My Role
Aria at Idlewild requested a suite of social media graphics for their Instagram profile that would position the community as an attractive, luxury apartment destination in Matthews, North Carolina. With only a logo and a minimal color palette of green, black, and beige provided, the primary challenge was elevating a limited brand system into something that felt refined, aspirational, and cohesive across social platforms.
To achieve this, I explored elevated typography systems that could bring sophistication and hierarchy to the brand. I introduced an uppercase serif typeface for primary headlines to convey importance, structure, and luxury, paired with an italicized subheading style to add softness, movement, and visual interest. This typographic contrast helped establish a premium tone while maintaining clarity and consistency.
For the social graphics, I focused on creating content that aligned directly with Aria at Idlewild’s social media pillars and audience interests. The designs were tailored to support resident events, testimonials, floor plan highlights, amenity carousels, leasing specials, and lifestyle-focused “date night” posts featuring local restaurants and attractions. This strategic mix ensured the content felt relevant, engaging, and informative while clearly communicating the community’s unique selling points.
To further elevate the brand with a limited visual toolkit, I developed subtle graphic flourishes that functioned as a recognizable “brand fingerprint.” This included repurposing the flourish line from the logo as a recurring design element, incorporating soft gradients to add depth and minimize the heaviness of solid green backgrounds, creating a new circular logo design with the 'A' icon front and center, and applying gradient overlays to headings to improve legibility over photography. Curved shapes inspired by the logo flourish were also used as graphic accents, reinforcing cohesion across posts. Together, these patterns, textures, shapes, and layout decisions created a consistent visual language—helping the brand feel intentional, polished, and memorable while strengthening recognition across social platforms.
The result was a cohesive collection of strategic, luxury-focused social media graphics designed for consistent use across Instagram. The refreshed typography system and custom graphic elements elevated Aria at Idlewild’s visual identity, transforming a minimal brand into a refined and engaging social presence that effectively showcased the community’s lifestyle, amenities, and value proposition.
