About the Client

My Role
I partnered closely with my Creative Director to lead the brand discovery and design process from the ground up. Through a collaborative kickoff workshop, we explored Monto’s business goals, target audience, competitive landscape, and visual inspirations.
Together, we defined a clear creative direction: a mountain-inspired identity grounded in an earthy, approachable palette and anchored by a distinctive, highly recognizable icon. A key priority was creating a mark that could stand on its own—memorable, meaningful, and legible across small-scale applications such as mobile apps, wayfinding, and signage.
The final icon merges multiple layers of meaning: a directional arrow, mountains, the letter “M”, and the idea of upward movement and mutual support—a visual metaphor for growth, guidance, and leaning on one another. The broader visual system incorporates a light, neutral color palette with cool undertones, accented by touches of rust and subtle, organic textures. Hand-drawn topographic linework further grounds the brand in Colorado’s natural terrain, reinforcing the connection to place and landscape.
At its core, the brand tells a simple story: Monto is the direction forward—guiding people toward home, belonging, and a life shaped by the outdoors.
The result is a cohesive, modern brand identity that positions Monto as a trusted, forward-thinking property management company. Through a flexible visual system, a distinctive icon, and consistent brand application across touchpoints, Monto clearly communicates its mission as a guide in the home-finding journey—grounded in nature, clarity, and connection.
